How the Medicine found Me!
I feel like the medicine found me. When I was in College for my degree, and older than most of my peers, a lot of students in my class would ask “Why are you here?”. It was a simple answer, “ I wanted to attend a medical school that I thought would prepare me to help people naturally.”
I did not want to study what the doctors had prescribed for my daughter, which was blood pressure and anti-seizure medication as well as placing her in a classroom for the emotionally handicapped. I knew there had to be a different route. When my daughter was born, I knew something was not right. She was a colicky baby and cried almost all the time. I consulted with several western medicine doctors that would only look at her symptoms. Their diagnoses terrified me and I knew there must be another way. When she was 4, I was fortunate to be directed to Dr. Fan in Tampa, a pediatric Chinese medical doctor. She took one look at my daughter and began a Taiwan massage on her acupuncture points. Dr. Fan then looked at me and she said “you come three times a week for 4 months and she will be well”, she continued “if you would have brought her in as a baby we could have fixed it like that” as she snapped her fingers. At the time, it seemed that all Dr. Fan did was to take some baby powder and rubbed on some of the points and sent us home. As I carried my daughter out of the office, she slept comfortably on my shoulder, and couldn’t remember that ever happening before. Over time, watching all the miracles take place in my daughter, I was inspired to study natural medicine to serve others in transforming their health naturally. I consider the gift I received from this practitioner as my joyful obligation to share the wisdom of natural medicine with all who seek healing and hope. I believe in witnessing the transformations of my daughter’s health and behavior, led me to the path for practicing natural medicine that offered more than hope. Now, with my 12 years of experience coupled with accreditation in revolutionary evaluation and treatments still on the horizon in most healthcare practices, I am profoundly grateful for opportunities to serve you in your journey to vibrant health and disease prevention. |
